Though the same price as the princess castle, I decided just to take pictures of these little toy houses at Full Circle thrift store up the road. The interiors are so charming and bring back childhood memories playing with Fisher Price circle people. I love the doors opening into other rooms that the house does not appear to contain from the outside. Like Doctor Who's tardis, not everything has to add up when you're making something simply for fun. It inspired me to take another step forward on my own miniature dwelling.
I had trimmed back the rose bush in the back yard near the castle and the buds fell among the materials I'd gathered from other places to use for the project. They seemed to go well together strewn about on the ground, so why not on the castle walls as well? I tore the dried buds apart and gave them a nice glue bath in preparation.
I am using gloves now to make this a quicker project to clean up and step away from. But now it's been too hot to go out and work on it even in short spurts. There are a few acorn tops from Yosemite sitting on the balcony. I think they will make very nice turrets.
I'm taking a break on the castle till it gets cooler and instead, taking advantage of the heat by turning back to crayon melting!
